Birthday get away
it was clean there was a little rip in the bedspread. The bathrooms are very small. We had a two bed suite and it was very roomy and comfortable.

Beautiful Hotel, Horrible Experience
Let's start out by saying I love this hotel. It is rich with history and the craftsmanship of the time it was built is evident. The hotel itself, the structure, is beautiful. The group running this hotel at this point clearly does not care about the hotel or the experience of the guests. We had to move rooms because our first room was so dirty. The second room was not much better, but we were too tired from traveling to move again. Housekeeping staff was rude and less than helpful. Such a shame to see such a beautiful historic hotel desecrated in the way this organization is doing it. Terrible overall experience, and I am a Hilton Honors member, but will be considering other hotel chains for travel going forward.

Rooms needed updated badly! Very little lighting. The bathroom door had a hole cut 8n the bottom for venting. The bathroom was extremely small.

Birthday weekend
The ceramic grout in the bathroom is impeccably clean. Thankfully, the bottom of the tub has a nonslip surface but there is no grab bar in the top. The water was only lukewarm at 9 o’clock in the morning on Sunday during our stay. For the dollar amount of hotel cost these days, I expect a little bit larger room even though we understand the Netherlands has a long legacy. I was thrilled to see decaf coffee in the room but no cups to put it in. Housekeeping was very quick to supply such. The inside bathroom and also the door has a screw that was about ready to fall off as it was protruding about 3/4 of an inch. The lamps on the nightstand beside the king-size bed are very nice, but! Most hotels have lamps that are reachable for on off purposes while you’re sitting up in bed. One has to get out of bed to turn these lamps off. The Bellman on the street was very cordial and helpful as was Tanner the interior Bellman. Check in through Luke was efficient and friendly. We are greatly disappointed that the orchid restaurant was closed for fine dining to celebrate my wife’s birthday. But the front desk recommended a nearby fine dining establishment. Morning buffet was generous and adequate and by the way the coffee was fresh and tasty.Decaf. overall, a very pleasant stay. You’ve employed some excellent staff.
