Avoid

The property is going through extensive and much needed renovations. The rooms are in need of an update; however, the property itself is very nice. Most of the floors are currently closed and the construction noise began both mornings of our stay at 7:00 in the morning. The sound of carpet being ripped up and hammering was very loud and annoying. While leaving our room there were TV’s and furniture scattered throughout the hallway due to the construction beginning on the floor we were on. The crown molding in the hallway has been removed in most of the hallway with wiring exposed throughout. Additionally, we paid extra for a room with a balcony. Upon checking in we were told that the Mills House does not have to honor room requests from 3rd party sites like hotels.com. Unfortunately, we paid extra for the room with the balcony and it was a waste of money. I would not recommend staying here while the construction continues over the rest of the year.
