Left a lot to be desired
I was really excited to come to this hotel but the experience from the beginning left me wondering why I had paid the extra money. At the beginning of my stay when I checked in, the lady who dealt with reservation charged me the cost of my stay even though I had paid in advance. It was only spotted by another colleague who then had to correct it (however it takes 5 working days for the £126 to come back). The room was comfortable and the air conditioning worked which was good. The bathroom was also spacious and well lit. However the sliding door for the wardrobe was broken and made it very difficult to use the cupboard or access the iron. The room also felt a bit dated compared to other places I’ve stayed in. The location was good for where I needed to be (in the centre of Bristol) although the view was obstructed by scaffolding. However the breakfast was very good and was probably the best part of the stay. Overall it was a safe and comfortable room, but I don’t think it was worth the money I paid for the room. I have stayed in places like Premier Inn or Holiday Inn Express which were much more modern and comfortable.

8/10 Very Good

A useful base to explore Bristol
Great location for exploring Bristol city centre: near to food outlets, bars and cafes, as well as cultural highlights. Only a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads station, too. The bed was comfortable, the views were expansive - if not especially exciting from my side of the hotel - the shower was great, and the room was a very good size. If staying in Bristol, you could do a lot worse than stay here. The only (minor) quibble I had was in relation to the check-in process. When I arrived - a little later than planned owing to train issues - a large party of wedding guests appeared to be checking in. This resulted in a lengthier than ideal check-in time for other guests not involved in the wedding. I think I queued for 20 mins to check-in. Admittedly, this was probably not a normal experience for a guest, and the actual check-in - when I got to the desk - was fine. All I'd suggest to the hotel is that, if hosting large events, they may consider either adding staff to the desks (only 3 in operation when I arrived and 30+ guests trying to check-in, or so it seemed) or adding a number of self-check-in machines for guests who have booked online.

Good hotel well situated but budget for parking
Room was clean and tidy, no complaints but the bed looked well used and due for change. £17 a day parking at NCP was over the top and discouraging for next stay at this hotel.
