Watkins Glen

Spent the weekend at Watkins Glen International and needed a place to stay. Hotel was convenient and was a clean place to last or heads for the night. Not too much for available close by, but overall a good place for us to stay while we were racing.

Water pressure issues. Water tempeature issues. Bed sheets and comforter were dirty. Towels were dirty and stained. Made me wonder if the sheets and towels were actually changed. This is an older motel showing its age. TV/cable was not working. Bathtub should be replaced. This a motel generally used for those that are homeless. Cigarettes are smoked outside the rooms, but the odor still comes in the windows very strong. I would not call it unsafe but bears being vigilant of your surroundings. Refrigerator was not in good shape and smelled bad. Linens could be updated or cleaned better. One positive is the bed was comfortable.

Bargain pricing isn’t always a deal.

Office was unstaffed when we arrived. After waiting a bit and talking to other visitors, everyone had a story of a long wait. The rooms are in rough shape. It’s ok if you just need to crash after a long day but you will not want to spend awake time here.
The duct tape made us giggle but we were glad that the weather turned cool because it was so loud!

Im actually kinda relaxed right now. This place is not bad at all and the fridge is big enough to fit a pizza box in. Thats always a plus. I can actually feel myself getting more comfortable here with each passing hour. Not a bad place at all. Its also a scene in my movie im writing. Two different nights. F96T2000 coming soon
