Luzon Hotels

Luzon is the Philippines' largest island, home to the colorful capital of Manila, peaceful beach resorts, and remote villages where tribes still live a simple existence. With volcanic and mountainous landscapes, it's the perfect spot for hiking and exploring, with winding trails through the lush, tropical rainforest. Luzon has a little something for everyone, with backpackers visiting to enjoy the busy city and its culture, and others simply wanting to relax on the white sandy beaches, or dive in the clear, turquoise seas.

Things to see

The Banaue Rice Terraces are made up of ancient agricultural land, with terraces carved into the lush green Ifugao Mountains so that the tribes could grow their crops. This gives a unique step like effect, with locals still using this method to farm, and you can explore the quaint villages at the foot of the mountains where people still live the simple life in straw roofed huts. There are further natural wonders to enjoy at the dramatic Mayon Volcano, an active volcano surrounded by national parkland, where you can hike through the rocky landscape. Follow the strict safety advice and you'll be able to enjoy the palm tree lined trails, and see occasional puffs of smoke from the conical volcano. Those staying close to the capital of Manila will enjoy facilities such as the Robinsons Place Mall, a stylish modern shopping center with 4 floors decked out in shiny white marble. Here you'll find stores from around the world, from bargain fashion to designer, as well as several restaurants and a modern cinema showing movies in English and Filipino.
